Pricing
How is my price worked out?
From your photos. Each item is matched to the Indianapolis price list, and bigger loads are also priced by how much of a sixteen-cubic-yard truck they fill. You see the lower of the two before you book.
What’s the smallest job you’ll take?
Any job at or above $75. A single recliner ($98) or a queen mattress ($103) clears it by itself.
Why doesn’t my Indianapolis quote include sales tax?
Indiana’s sales tax covers selling or renting goods. Hauling away your own belongings is a service on property you own, which the state’s rules don’t treat as a retail sale.
Do basements or upstairs rooms cost more?
No. Stairs, long hallways and the walk from a back bedroom are part of every flat price.
Is same-day pickup priced higher?
No. When a crew has room today, you pay the same catalog price as any other day.
Booking and Pickup Day
Who does the actual carrying?
Vetted, insured local crews that work through JunkRabbit. You book and pay through us; they show up with the truck.
Can the pickup happen while I’m at work?
Yes. Leave the items in an open garage or share a door or lockbox code, and photos arrive when the job is finished.
Can my building get a certificate of insurance?
Yes. Downtown, Mass Ave and Carmel City Center buildings that ask for one can send their requirements at booking.
Do landlords and property managers use you?
They can. Every unit can have its own quote, and access can be handled with codes so no one has to meet the crew.
What We Haul
Can you take leftover paint?
Yes, priced for its special handling: $30 per gallon can and $52 per five-gallon bucket.
Do you take old furnaces and water heaters?
Yes, once they’re disconnected — a furnace is $131 and a tank water heater $131, carried up from the basement.
Where does everything end up?
Usable furniture is donated first, refrigerant is recovered from fridges and freezers, electronics go to recyclers, and the rest goes to licensed disposal sites.
Can you move a hot tub or a pool table?
Yes. A hot tub is $322 once drained and disconnected, and a pool table $603.
Local Programs and Coverage
What is heavy trash, and when should I use it instead?
Heavy trash is what Indianapolis calls its bulky-item collection. If your address is covered and the items fit its rules, it’s worth using. We’re the option for basements, bigger loads and firm deadlines.
What are the excluded cities?
Beech Grove, Lawrence, Speedway and Southport kept their own municipal services when Indianapolis and Marion County merged under Unigov in 1970, so their trash programs differ. Cumberland’s Marion County side joins them on January 1, 2027.
How far out do you go?
All of Marion County and about 30 miles around Monument Circle — including Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Zionsville, Avon, Plainfield, Greenwood, Franklin, Greenfield and Shelbyville. The area list has every neighborhood page.
